"For the money, it is a great value for my dollar. While there are other alternatives, the NPR choice is very efficient."
David Hyatt, President, Motor Racing Network
For over thirty years, NPR Satellite Services has been providing comprehensive satellite solutions to commercial broadcasters and networks. We offer C-band transponder space on the Galaxy 16 satellite, which is owned and operated by Intelsat. Galaxy 16 is a high-power satellite providing complete geographic coverage of the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
The NPR Satellite Services customer base is as broad as it is diverse. In addition to our 450-station-strong public radio network, we service an expanding range of clients who distribute their programming to well over 3,000 broadcast outlets nationwide.
Since launching the first national satellite network for radio in 1979, we have continued to make advancements in the transmission technology that has become an industry standard. The ContentDepot®, public radio's new distribution system designed and developed by NPR, continues to use satellite technology to send content to stations nationwide. And more efficiently and with greater reliability and flexibility than terrestrial networks, too.
Our unique array of services includes satellite services, a 24/7 state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC), and a Satellite Equipment Maintenance and Repair Depot.
